Xara is a small AI company from Brașov, Romania. We build practical AI products for small and medium businesses, and we publish the tools underneath them, openly, for anyone to use.

Why we exist
The most capable AI in history arrived, and within two years it was mostly available to companies that could afford enterprise contracts. Everyone else, the shop with four employees, the local service business, the two-person agency, got demos and waiting lists.
We started Xara because that gap isn't technical. The technology is ready. What's missing is someone willing to package it at a price a normal business can actually pay, in a language they actually speak, without a six-month integration project.
So that's what we build: an AI assistant that answers your customers, monitoring that tells you when your website is quietly breaking, and an AI development team that ships the things sitting in your backlog. Small prices, real outcomes, no enterprise theater.
We're based in Brașov and we build for Romania first, in Romanian, for Romanian businesses, while keeping everything just as usable in English.

Honest pricing
Pay for what you use, or a small flat fee. No hidden tiers, no per-seat games, no annual lock-in.
Your data stays yours
We train on your business to serve your business. You decide what goes in and what goes live.
No lock-in by design
If you leave, you take your data with you. Products that only keep customers by trapping them aren't products we want to build.
We say what doesn't work
Every tool has limits. We publish ours, read the "honest limitations" section in any of our repos.
We publish the tools we build on
Some of what we build isn't a product: it's infrastructure. When we need a tool that should exist and doesn't, we build it, use it in production, and publish it under MIT. No trimmed-down "community edition": the same code we run.

No JavaScript runtime, no database server, no vector store. One static binary and one data directory, small enough to run in a container next to whatever else you're hosting.

AI does the heavy lifting
We use AI throughout our own development. It's why a small team ships at the pace we do, and why our prices can be what they are.
A human approves everything
Nothing reaches a client's live product without a person signing off on it. That rule applies to our own work first. It's also how our Coding Agent works.
Small, often, in the open
We ship in small pieces, fix fast, and document what's broken instead of hiding it.
